End of Year Reflection

For ranking my main subject was bog boddies my chosen theme was decay i looked at the different wrinkles and folds in the skin of the bodies and i felt that the theme was dark and the materials i would have to use would be strong and or organic to hint that these are humans so i experimented alot with leatherette and meashy fabrics

very simular to final piece

refrence

I loved the knit project it was my break inbetween all the hard fastpaced work, not to say i didn't put in as much effort it was just so relaxing. I enjoyed trying the different methods of knit, my favourate was cable. Here are a few examples of swatches i've done.

The last project we did was on stripe and I really went a total 180 degrees and focused alot on colour i chose neon lights and used vibrant colours and fabrics some refrences i used.....

over all i enjoyed what fashion had to through at me over the last few weeks and i can't wait to learn more over the summer!

Two Weeks of Fashion

I started off week one not really sure what I was doing. I chose flowers as my subject matter and started pulling shapes from the flowers. I had to use the shapes and place them on croquis and make couture garments. I then went onto experiment with paper and different weights of material....In the end it had to result in a six piece collection. I really enjoyed it in the second week when I had started to figure out what I was doing, I loved researching other artists and designers. I learned alot from the two weeks like a simple thing like how to use a sewing machine and use croquis in design. My favourate part of the two weeks was working with the paper and material on the manequin and I loved drawing. here are a few pictures of my work on the manequins!
